The Venetian walls of old Nicosia illuminated at night

Pilgrimage Day 6 · Nicosia

The Church & Reconciliation

Catholic worship, Byzantine inheritance and prayer in a divided capital.

Discover the day

Part of our planned pilgrimage. We are refining this day with clergy, specialist guides and local partners. The spiritual shape is in place; exact timings and arrangements will be confirmed for each departure.

Faith in the heart of the capital

One city, many histories, a prayer for peace

Nicosia brings the complexity of Cyprus into close view. Within the Venetian walls are Catholic, Orthodox and other Christian stories, while the modern division of the city asks pilgrims to consider memory, justice, neighbourliness and peace.

The day begins with the living Catholic community at Holy Cross and continues through the old city. Sacred art and carefully chosen heritage stops reveal centuries of faith, encounter and change.

We approach the division of the city without spectacle. The aim is to listen, learn and pray for the peace Christ asks his followers to make.

“Blessed are the peacemakers.” — Matthew 5:9

The old city makes the island’s division visible.
